"God is Love. Love is God. God is sweeter than the sweetest thing. He is All-milk,
All-love, All-sweetness. He is the inflowing honey and nectar." – Sri Swami Sivananda
Thank you for our Full Moon Celebration October, 2009
from Goddess Diana
Thank you to all the wonderful souls who came out to celebrate the Wuji Moon Full Moon Celebration. What an AWEsome turnout. So much love and energy.
What an OMazing evening. It began with Goddess Jiwan and a set of Kundalini Yoga exercises (kriyas and mantras). And then Jared led us through a QiGong session where we grounded our energy and created lots more. And then we LAUGHed, LAUGHed, LAUGHed as we HO, HO, HA, HA, HA under the Full Moon. We shook it all about and HOKEY POKEY’d and we greeted each other with laughter and hugs. What wonderful energy we created as we sampled Laughter Yoga. And the ripples of laughter we sent out – very good, very good, Yay!!! And then Lisa Lumiere led us through some Full Moon QiGong and chanting at La una.
We were supposed to drum but the ceremony was running very late. I absorbed so much energy and had no way to release so I sat by the water with some friends. Another couple had drums and were slowly beating them. We joined in and had a little drumming circle. It lasted 10 minutes yet it filled my soul. And then I had to go home, past my bedtime.
The last Full Moon Drumming Ceremony was in September, 2009 and what ener-chi it created in my life. Check it out by clicking HERE.
I wanted more. Unfortunately, it was already 9:00 p.m. and I am an early riser and early sleeper. So I went home for bedtime and had to miss the fabulous drumming. It did cause me to have this desire to drum – I’ve been banging and tapping on things all month, creating a rhythm for the energy that just needs to get out.
This month for the Hunter Moon, I am creating a SACRED SPACE for all those who want to join me and release their pent up energy and surrender to the flow of the Moon. I will show up with my drums and intention to welcome the Moon in peace and in sacred Circle. I will bang on a drum and chant and dance as the Moon guides me.
I hope others who feel the ancient beat join me as we bang a drum, as we dance, as we BE… and celebrate the Full Moon on November 2, 2009. Behind the Hollywood Beach Community and Cultural Center, we will be on the beach – raising and praising the Moon with our drumbeats…. looking forward to seeing you there
Why yoga works—simply
Ancient yogis knew the benefits that came with regular yoga practice. Today, advancements in technology enable scientists to show precisely how these ancient practices work to benefit the mind and body. Yogis have been passing on the teachings of yoga for nearly 5,000 years.
Most simply, using proper breathing, especially during asana practice, enables the average person to develop the breathing apparatus and strengthen the vital life force. Once that begins, everything else flows from it. Why yoga works is really that simple. Any time you lie on the mat and breathe, the benefits of yoga begin.
There is a saying in yoga that when we control the breath, we control the life force, and when you think about that, it's really true.
